are there any exersize facilities around Pahoa, in addition to the great outdoors. I know there are yoga centers and will be joining upon arrival but hope ther are also traditional facilities available

Curves in Shipman Industrial, Keaau, is the only Puna health club that I know of, but the Pahoa Parks & rec gym may have something:

Also the Pahoa pool (one of the islands nicest) has aqua fitness:

for both of these links, just go to the the facility (for the gyms, click on the pdf symbol) and look at the seasonal offering

I know of at least one gym in Hilo. There may be more than one as well.

Aloha,
If you are into lap swimming there is a great (free) public pool in Pahoa. The water fitness class is during the day when I'm working but I go after school once or twice a week and swim a mile.
Just tried a class at East Side Yoga Shala- it was a good experience so will make it regular too.

Thanks for the help. Is Pahoa a great little town to live in??? Looks like it should be. Don't see much in the way of rentals. Do they exist. Moving there for work and like to walk to or bicycle to the coffee shop and healt food store.

Tony, toddler programs are not listed in the fall program on the link I provided, Kona pool is the only one I have seen this fall w/toddler...you may want to check with the pool manager at the contact link in my above post to find out when/if they will offer the toddler program.
