From the article SBH linked...
Kahele opposes the $1.4 billion telescope project “as it is currently proposed.”
“I have a series of issues with the project, but the first and probably the foremost is its location,” he said. “You know, there’s been enough development on the summit of Maunakea, and there’s absolutely no reason to bulldoze and excavate an area of Maunakea that has never been disrupted and disturbed in the history of our planet. Once you do that, you will never be able to restore that to its original condition.”
He said he would prefer to see the telescope built “on an existing telescope site that has been properly decommissioned or refurbished.”
“We already have 13 examples of existing development on the summit of Maunakea. … It is a conservation district. It is supposed to be treated with the utmost care by the state of Hawaii. And to permanently damage and alter existing landscape where they’re proposing to build TMT, I disagree with.”

TomK - What, precisely, will this "serious stuff" entail?
No offense TomK, but it amazes me for someone who is in the middle of events to apparently not be aware of many of the going-ons. Did you miss the news of similar actions on Maui, Kauai, and at Hilo airport?

I am very much aware, ironyak, which is why I asked what much more serious stuff is coming.

believe they’re in it for the long haul...
The protestors claim the state has forced the TMT on the public against their will. But aren’t the protestors, a small minority of Native Hawaiian people, the group that’s forcing their opinion, their preference, and their ideas on a majority of Native Hawaiians? Don’t the protestors completely ignore the view of the majority in their statements, comments, and demands? Aren’t these actions generally associated with totalitarian regimes, dictators, or tyrannical parties who disregard the will of the people?
72% of Native Hawaiians support the TMT on Mauna Kea:

So why aren’t those 72% not saying anything? Are they afraid of the protesters?
Maybe I missed it?

@TomK - It seems many of the various groups have been quite clear in regards to putting the state government on notice of possible protest actions. Just spend a little time on the social media to keep up to date.

Anyone want to bet on the validity of that number?

I know this. I'm asking what will be "much more serious". There are already protests on all islands and on the mainland. I've already posted that H-1 on Oahu was brought to a virtual standstill. This has happened as well as various groups putting the governor on notice. I want to know what "much more serious stuff" actually means. To me that doesn't mean more protests, but if that's what you think it means, then fair enough. We simply have different definitions of "much more serious".

Yes.
It’s a professional poll conducted by Mason-Dixon.
The margin of error is 4.3-4.5%.
I’ll bet any amount you’re willing to stake.
How much?

The margin of error for Hawaiians is much higher, at least 11%, since the sample size was only 78 for them. That also depends on the poll getting a truly random sample which they may not have, and a nonrandom sample may be more likely with a smaller sample size.
