Media Release
Hawai#699;i Island Police are cautioning the public about parking violations on the Daniel K. Inouye Highway (DKI Highway/Saddle Road). Hawaii County Code 24-202 prohibits vehicles parking between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and vehicles to be parked parallel to the shoulder and all the wheels off the paved shoulder. Violations of these rules along these areas of the highway are subject to citations being issued and potentially being towed from the area.
We are reminding the public and encouraging people to obey the parking rules. Everyone’s cooperation is needed to prevent injury to people or damage vehicles using the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. The parking situation is being monitored and could result in potential closure of the highway should the parking situation continue to pose a problem to public safety.

Parking rules? All wheels off the paved road, in parallel. SNL should do a spoof of these releases?

Excuse me but the entire Saddle Road has no parking signs. Tow every damned one of those vehicles.

Parking. One has to expect, considering the proximity to sympathetic land owners, that the issue isn't a deal breaker.

I think even Monty Python wouldn't have come up with such a silly sketch as to what's going on right now. Ige has caved and has left the TMT out to dry, and probably the Maunakea Observatories as well.

Watching the unrest grow.. does anyone think there’s an end to this that has everyone go home and the TMT just go about their business?
ETA: For anyone interested in signing a petition supporting the Hawaiian’s efforts regarding the TMT there is a change.org petition at:

Just a suggestion, but you might want to be a bit more careful in the future with your links if you don't want to reveal your true identity.
I keep getting a pop-up message on that link about some guy called Dorian saying he's counting on you. It's quite annoying.

He certainly hasn’t any idea how to unify his constituents. Though I suspect a deeper set of forces than Ige’s ineptness are at play. Notice how the tried and true Democrats, Mazie and Case, toe the same party line as Ige while Tulsi, already an established renegade, has stood strongly, clearly articulating her position for the Hawaiian’s cause. And interestingly she was able to get Bernie to back her play. Payback for all the support she gave Bernie back in ‘16? And Josh speaking out against Ige? I think Ige is way out of his depth.

I think that goes without saying. We all know that.
