What exactly is a professional protester? Does such a thing exist? I understand that many are flying in to join the protest but are there really those that get paid for it? Definition of professional.

@Frank - Of course the U.S. Supreme Court stated directly in 2009 that the state of Hawaii has title to the ceded lands free and clear regardless of the 1993 Apology Act (at which point the State Legislature passed Act 176 so that "none of the public lands in Hawaii (whether ceded or not) can be sold or transferred without a two-thirds vote by both chambers of our Legislature.") it's a deadly serious struggle for their identity. For their right to self determination.
Would you say OHA should be part of that self determination process? DHHL? Would you like to see their management skills applied on a larger scale? For instance, if you compare the number of homesteads assigned and homes built by Native Hawaiians through DHHL, as compared with building permits issued through the CofH (which few would hold up as a model of efficiency), which agency provides more people with shelter? If DHHL took on a much larger role in state kingdomwide housing, how many Hawaiians could get a home based on DHHL’s past record? Or would they be forced to move to Vegas or California so they could get out of the rain?
Should we list OHA’s accomplishments? Would you really like to see what it would be like if the state kingdom functioned as they do? It would be a nightmare. Although the trustees, their family, and business associates would no doubt relish the prospect of an enormous budget they could plunder.
If not OHA or DHHL as an example of self determination, who would you suggest?

They don’t seem to have jobs to go to. They just go from event to event. And talk to reporters.
I have been at incidents on the mainland when a half a dozen out of state charter busses full of protesters all ready with signs, some of which had nothing to do with what was going on

ironyak, thank you for the reads...I think one can not give away that which is not legitimately owned...such is the case of the US giving back the ceded lands to the State...Ceded lands were not theirs (US) to give to anyone.

above taken from wikipedia...I think the ceded lands belong to the Hawaiians...that is the issue...ceded lands are the Engine that drive this State...airports, harbors, Mauna Kia, the Hawaiians own all the land these drivers occupy

Technically, if you go with that, is not every bit of every island, ceded lands?
