If you mean established and reviewed U.S. law, then yes the comparison is apt. Until someone can bring a challenge before the Supreme Court then it is settled U.S. law, just like South Carolina's ceded territory (a.k.a Tennessee)

Yes, mainly DOCARE officers. They are generally stationed at the police checkpoint at the cattle guard which is a little farther up the access road from the protesters' encampment.
