Hawaii politics like musical chairs. Someone leaves, everyone moves up one. Gabbard is really doing her constituents a disservice here.

Kai Kahele: Unum e pluribus. Now the divine right incumbent is gone expect to see a crowded race. Kai Kahele is a back bench-er from the sticks, and by no way a shoe in. Back rooms are abuzz across the state.
I really want Ron Menor to run again. This time I intend to get a supply of "Menor for Congress" T shirts. (you have to say it out loud)

I've been asking this question for years, but CNN recently put it in essay form, updated for recent events: What Exactly Is Tulsi Gabbard Doing? From the article: * She skipped a Latino candidate forum in Iowa, spending that time instead on Sean Hannity's show on Fox News... * The obvious answer is a third-party presidential bid ... * Gabbard may well be angling for a long-term spot on Fox News once she leaves Congress... She's the darling of the right wing, and not because she doesn't toe the Democratic Party line but because in any other state she'd be on the ballot as a Republican. She calls herself a Democrat in Hawaii because it was the path of least resistance for electability. Tulsi is Pepsi in a Coke can. She isn't delivery, she's DiGiorno. She certainly doesn't deliver for her constituents in the 2nd Congressional District. We deserve better. Better than her previously announced opponent too, Mr. Gut N. Replace, Kai Kahele. We need someone to step up and properly represent Puna, Big Island, and the other rural areas of Hawaii.
