Boom, loud thud felt just now

I don’t know if it was an explosion, it didn’t feel like the normal earthquake.
Sure made the windows rattle.

Heard it in Orchidland ,near the top of subdivision, Shook the windows. I've heard booms in the past but this one sounded different. More powerful
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

I heard nothing mid-HPP and I was outside.

Loud deep boom in lower HPP, metal house roof reacted like a sound board, I could hear the boom echo in the distance.
Couldn’t determine direction, but don’t think it was a quake as nothing moved.
Unusual.

Are you talking about a sonic boom? Maybe, but don’t you hear the plane after the sonic boom? Usually, there’s some kind of warning of military maneuvers on the news.
Pohakuloa doesn’t have an airstrip sufficient for supersonic aircraft, they’d have to come from somewhere else.

I found a report of a similar incident from 2012. The news story links with "the popular Punaweb forum" and a discussion quite similar to this thread.

2 possibilities: Carrier based Lockheed F35C VTOL fighter, max velocity Mach 1.6
Same aircraft using VTOL capability taking off from PTA.

Or, maybe just the Gods bowling?
