I'm inclined to lean towards Roth also.
If for no other reason that no one else seems to have any qualifications, experience, or is without major historical screw ups.
Even Roth leaves me a bit scared.
I've said it before, but it seems Hawaii's problem looks to be its very small gene pool.

Roth is on my short list, but I need to hear him explain why he keeps letting criminals back out on the gravel road-shaped lots.

From process of reduction and elimination, I have to go with Roth.
I wonder if he reads Punaweb?

Who have the public employees unions endorsed? Sometimes I use that as an indication of who not to vote for.

Devil's advocate here:
Though it's fun to rail against the public employees, don't we all really want what they have? Good jobs, good benefits, low stress, job security, and a pension with healthcare after years of service? Private sector jobs used to have that back in the 80's, until the economy was raped by Wall Street and the rich. It's not that there isn't enough to go around, it's that we've been bled dry and we're now jealous and fighting among ourselves instead of targeting systemic change.
All that is to say, rather than fight the local unions who have somehow held onto a bit of the American dream when it has failed elsewhere, maybe we can influence them to use their power to make the changes we really need for everyone. Take steps to fill the bowl, instead of fighting over what's left in it.

From kaliana's post in a similar thread in the Punatalk forum, a Mayor Candidate Debate was held on Na Leo TV.
It is in 2 parts, 8 candidates in Part 1 and 7 candidates in part 2 participated.
The candidates are asked questions by a panel of 3 people.
Part 01:

Part 02:

I'm not done watching them and have chosen the 2nd as more interesting, with those that have my greatest interest, so have begun to watch it first.
You get to see the candidates, their bearing and answers, plus you can assess their potential to fill the opening.

Certainty will be the death of us.
