I'm just going to point out that Denmark's 80% number is people above the age of 12.
Using that metric for Hawaii, the number is 76%.

Meaning that 20-25% were able to exercise their freedom of choice and that country was still able to lift their Covid restrictions.
& of that 20-25%....How many are unable to receive the vaccine due to age restriction?....
about 16.5% (2019 population )...
So we are talking of about 4.5-9.5% that are not vaccinated who are of age... about the number that would be expected by medical restrictions....
So your point is, that a country that did not need anything but the freedom to close to actually be vaccinated chose to be vaccinated.... for the ability to lift restrictions & actually have more freedoms....
HMMMM... your point is what? That a citizenry that chooses to be vaccinated is allowed to have restriction lifted due to low infection rate, even before children are able to be vaccinated is..... GOOD
I think that is the point... high vaccination rates reduced their infection rate in the hoped for bell curve with the highest infection rates in late Dec, 2020 (just as vaccines were rolled out) & current new infection rates near what they were a year ago.....

“ hoped for bell curve ”
Actually the curve is always there, it’s location on it that matters.

Blah blah blah. The point that you are all desperately trying to avoid is that we don't need to vaccinate everyone.
I'll check back for your cranky responses later as I'm off to the beach.

Hey, maybe we're getting close to herd immunity here, and the next 5% will make all the difference. Or maybe we are different culturally (bigger families/gatherings/social anxiety?) and will need a higher number. The proof is in the pudding though, and hospitals are currently full of the unvaccinated.

We need a higher number whenever it's necessary to prolong the state of emergency. Remember the good old days when "all restrictions will be lifted" at 70% vaccination? Now we need 90% because delta, but before we get there, we will need 70% boosters because mu/delta+/iota/whatever.

Is there a better way to stop the hospitals from being overrun? Aside from vaccination, of course!

Funny you should ask. Check out this pure comedy gold:

"But when asked what she would do differently to get the pandemic under control, she [Councilmember Heidi Tsuneyoshi] instead blamed hospital administrators for
not having enough ICU beds to handle the recent hospitalizations."

There you go making stuff up again. No one has said everyone needs to be vaccinated, but at least you are getting closer to admitting vaccinations work. And who cares if you're off to the beach? Only you I suspect.
