Largest Price increase you have seen ?

The problem lies with mostly us, the electorate.

The problem is the electorate is offered two crap choices.  Either choice on the ballot will make crap decisions.  Our electoral winners will throw pencils at people they don’t like, whine & piss & moan that the painting in their public office isn’t Hawaiian enough, conduct business in Korean bars, use gut and replace to trick fellow electors into voting for a bill they would otherwise never vote for, not show up for work but instead hold meetings with someone who claims he can interpret obscure & archaic laws in a way that supports his agenda, all without any training in law, while the politician continues to cash her county council checks as she pursues her newly discovered hobby full time...

None of them should have been on the ballot in the first place.

After shopping today I can add hunting ammo to the list. Though, it's largely irrelevant since most of it is sold out.

So true!

as an example:  the transfer stations in Puna.  On the mainland, in California, you are forced by law to pay to have a garbage service take your stuff away.  And it costs a lot!  I am saving more than $85 per month in Hawaii using the very convenient transfer stations.  Property taxes:  half as much in Hawaii.  Utility bills in California where you have to heat and cool all the time @ .28 per kWh PGE are $500 mo.  A building permit:  In Hawaii a few thousand, in California its nearly 6 figures and has to become part of the mortgage!

Yeah, some food is expensive in Hawaii.   But cheap, wonderful fruit balances that out!

Long live living in Puna!

Point taken.
But, maybe the electorate could offer up a candidate? If that’s too difficult, start lower at the local level.
Don’t forget, don’t let up, it’s too important.

You have to have credibility before you can lose it.

Do you drive into Hilo to buy your barrels of oil, or is there a good place here in Puna? And how do you unload them once you're home?
