Pancho's is usually only open 2 or 3 days a week. That's not much competition and the real money made at a restaurant is cocktails.

Coco Cantina is California Mexican. Not at all to my liking.

ugh, i can't remember the name now.

The Mex resto in downtown Hilo is good. Nice family, varied menu and awesome sides. But now u have to ask bc people were buying a single item and then wheezing all the 4 different kine salsa, carrot and onions.

Reliable location:

Mauka of the two people living with dogs and on the sidewalk

Wasn't the sidekick of the Cisco Kid named Pancho? I wonder how he liked his taco...

“Wasn't the sidekick of the Cisco Kid named Pancho? I wonder how he liked his taco...”

Leo Carrillo was the actor who played Pancho on the Cisco Kid. He planted one of the Banyan trees on Banyan Drive in front of the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel while he was on island with Cecil B. DeMille filming “Four Frightened People”.

The California State Park at Malibu Beach, CA is named after him and I’m sure he loved tacos since his California roots go back to 1769.
