Shell Oil Company, your friend.
#1
Hilo has Shell Stations.
Shell is profiting from the Russia/Ukraine war.
They are buying Russia's discounted petroleum products.
The income from the sales of Russia's and Shell's oil, supports the invasion of Ukraine.
They're promising to donate profits to charity, while financing more death and destruction, creating a need for more charity as well as the social harm by buying and selling Russia's oil.
But, anything to make a dollar, right?

Boycott all Shell products.
Drive Shell out of Hawaii.
Better yet, destroy the company.

I'd rather have the cheaper gas than to participate in self harm that ultimately won't hurt Putin in any significant way. They will just sell it to China etc.

Also keep in mind the vast majority of people in Russia want no part of this.

Say what?

From.. https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2022/03/04...crude-oil/

Par Pacific, Hawaii’s only refinery, suspends purchases of Russian crude oil

Par Pacific, the state’s only refinery, announced Thursday it is suspending all purchases of Russian crude oil.

It’s estimated Russian oil accounts for at least 25% of Hawaii’s supply.

Lawmakers say Par Pacific’s decision could be a step toward a nationwide ban on all Russian imports.

“We actually will be proceeding with legislation in Congress in the next few days to really require that across the country if the administration doesn’t get there first,” said U.S. Rep. Ed Case.

Par Pacific’s decision serves as a clear example of how Russia’s invasion carries global impact.

The company says it is now turning to other sources from North and South America to meet petroleum demand here.

Though, I agree, Shell and all other fossil fuel companies, are raping the planet and we should boycott their products. All of them.

I'm in. Glad I have a vehicle that doesn't guzzle gas.

I never buy from Shell, anyway, but support a boycott. The only way Putin will be stopped is if the Russian people become so miserable that they overthrow the government. They've done it before.

From whom does Safeway buy their gasoline? They can't be refining it themselves.

I would martial your resources and find the most affordable path forward, your dollars will not be going very far in the near future and you might need them to buy food and other essentials whose prices will be rising even more.
Crazy to hear neoliberalcon delusions of regime change and the pounding of war drums coming from the other side of the coin now, what an world we live in. Not sure it is Hawaii related to discuss fantasies of WW3, I suggest turning off the news.

It's all very professional.

The moderator has a full time job besides running Punaweb.  Most likely more than full time.  As you may have noted by the price of admission ($0) and your monthly subscription fee ($0) this website is a labor of love.  And running Punaweb is like herding feral cats.  Not many people would do it. Or put up with it. For free. And then have to read complaints about how things are administered, how speaking with the manager gets you no satisfaction, so grumble, grumble, grumble.

Thank you Rob for your super-human patience.
