Refund Checks
#1
In my household we both filed our state taxes in Febuary and received our refunds soon after by direct deposit. As of  9/13 neither of us have received the $300 refunds by direct deposit. Anyone here received their's yet?

Wasn't sure what you meant by $300 checks from Hawaii so I looked it up.
Found this posted last week.  Now I'll expect it but won't hold my breath that it will occur in the next few days.

From the article, link above:

Under the Hawaii Constitution, the state is required to issue a refund to taxpayers or make a contribution to its rainy day fund if it carries over at least 5% of tax revenue over two consecutive years.

Presumably the state has had a pretty good idea that they would have a surplus in tax revenue.  Presumably, with a surplus there should be no problem with ordering and paying for check stock in a timely manner.

… paper check refunds will be mailed in batches of 2,000 while the state waits for additional printed stock used by the state for checks arrives. Once the check stock is available, …

What if I run out of “check stock.”  Can I send my payment at the end of next month, or whenever, and explain my situation? And not get a penalty or interest charge?  Or will they tell me to manage my resource procurement better?

What if I run out of "check stock."

What if you knew, months in advance, that you would need more blank checks, and you didn't order any? Blame the one-party rule, or the unions?

I haven't received a refund yet and filed my taxes online. I made sure to pay the taxes I owed on time.

Last batch was sent 9/13 with a stated lead time of 7 days, so it could still be coming.

I paid my taxes by check, so I'll be lucky to get the refund this year, assuming the state bothers to order blank check stock.

We got direct deposit on 9/12.

We electronically filed for tax refund in early January.

October 7th and I still haven't received the $300 direct deposit. I received my Hawaii tax refund on 2/27/22.
Anyone else still waiting?
