Activating Revitalization

I assume you are making fun of me or something

Quite the contrary. From Sam Son’s description of the meeting, your answers & comments on this thread seemed more accurate and detailed than some offered by officials at the event.

What is the "southern part" of the beach? Is it not contiguous with the rest of the new beach? Please circle it on Google map satellite view or something. Thanks!

Right on Obie. I am always happy to oblige. Why don't you come back when you're really drunk and tear me a new one. It's always so much fun to watch you slur your words..

As to that boat ramp plan.. that's one way to go about it, for sure. Destroy the beach for a third rate ramp.. smart them buggahs are. And, still, regardless of how drunk you get, kalakoa pinned that tail on the donkey.. and we'll all get to have our say.. over and over..

But actually get access to the kai? Yeah.. good luck with that.

The only thing you have to offer anymore is attacks on posters on here.

Could it be possible I have a condition that causes me to post like that.

Can you see my from your almighty throne ?

You do realize the beach will disappear with time just like all of the other beaches that have been formed by volcanic eruptions don't you ? It is already mostly cobble and rocks. It's not safe to get into the water and the swimming cesspool is a health hazard.
It would sure be nice if the state could come up with a way to build a breakwall near the lighthouse and develop a park to replace Ahalanui. Make a safe water entry and a place for families to gather. I know I'm dreaming but Pohoiki was a boat ramp, with surfing and a park. That the county allowed swimming a boat ramp is a joke.

But I'm here for the weather. I realize Puna is a sewer and will never be changed.

No Can Puna !

Hey Puna isn't special in that regard Obie - this entire island is one big shit show.

Beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery and low population density are the only real reasons to be here.

Anything else is a distraction.

Actually, Obie, I try to keep it balanced. You'll note I have shared thought out opinions (opinions.. ie not necessarily ones you agree with, but written to present mine coherently) and information on many topics. I've explained my ideas about cultural differences, my thoughts on the TMT, I wrote a piece on what I think should be done for boat access in Puna. In terms of the volcano I have shared more ideas, links to studies, background knowledge, than anyone. I ain't always right but hey, I caught the very first signs in the data stream, in the middle of a three day storm, of the collapse of Puu Oo and the beginning of the intrusion into Lower Puna, and posted it here. I posted info about this morning's eqs. And all that's mixed with friendly banter, and an occasional response to those that attack me.

I have been the target of attacks since time immemorial. Tom's been trying to grind me into dust for what seems like forever. To the point of hilarity at times. And, when you're in one of your moods, regardless of what condition is at their root, they seem to come from a belligerent drunk. Sheesh you gave me shit for my opinion on an alternative to Pohoiki as if I don't have the right to have one.

But, to be clear, at times you attack me without being provoked. So, what do you want? If you got some reason, other than your favorite libation (and god knows I ain't got no beef with that) great, I am sorry for my ignorance, and lack of compassion if that is the case. But brah, ignorance.. you know, like, how am I to know?

Believe me, I don't want to be your psychologist, and would rather you just find some other target, and all will be fine when you do. But hey, if you want to use me as a punching bag, great. Sheesh you can go around blaming everything in your life on me for all I care. Print bumper stickers, t-shirts, tell everyone it's all my fault. Just don't think my having, and expressing, an opinion about that is wrong.

MyManoa,

You are the person who has changed you name on here at least 3 times.
Isn't that because you posted some outlandish stuff. You got banned by Rob at least once.
We have both attacked each other and I call a truce.

...no swimming at the boat ramp
Yeah right.

its impossible to prevent swimming at *any* boat ramp!  You just walk into the water and do it!  They should plan for it.

Hawaii is the only place I have ever lived where that wouldn't result in arrest.

But we also allow riding unrestrained in pickup beds for humans but your dog has to be restrained. Life is cheap here.

One of the arguments when it was proposed to outlaw the practice was that it was cultural.  Politicians didn’t want to touch that.  I’m sure an argument can be made that swimming next to running outboard motor blades is part of the culture too.
