School bus blues
#1
So I’m sitting on my deck having my morning coffee and enjoying a piece of my wifes banana cream pie. Yes, I have pie for breakfast Rolleyes , and a huge tow truck comes down the street pulling an even larger school bus.   To my surprise, the tow truck  stops and backs the school bus into my neighbor's lot. I'm thinking that’s strange, maybe they are gonna work on it, get it going and travel around in it.  Forty minutes later, the same tow truck comes with another school bus.  And another and another.  Currently, there are a total of six full size school buses on my neighbors Leilani Estates lot.

So, of course I call the neighbors and ask them what’s the deal with the buses?  They straight up told me that they were going to renovate them and make living quarters out of them.  Strip out the seats and add bedrooms and kitchenettes and rent them out as  B&B’s, on their property.

Judging by the collective outrage of all the neighbors, and the obvious zoning violations,  I find it highly unlikely that this is going to happen.  They may rent out one or two of the buses in a clandestine manner, but even then there are a lot of eyes on them. The HOA and county are aware of the buses.  My real concern is the environmental impacts of having 6 school buses slowly rot on the adjacent property line.  And how I once looked out into the rainforest,  but now only see a sea of yellow school buses; it makes me sad but mostly Pissed.

Does anyone know of a good real estate attorney?  I would like to pursue any possible legal avenues.

Best of luck and please post updates.

I predict that the HOA will do more than County, unless DOH gets involved.

Leilani HOA should get all over that, ASAP. Also, contact County Health Department - the lack of septic, etc. will get them going and they can act quickly. Also illegal to rent out as B&B's with all the new regulations on vacation rentals, which means they won't have a permit which means no taxes... lots of government agencies to involve.

Fella across street does this with old cars...$ 30 a month for the whole car. Many calls to many agencies but no action. No water non toilet, no problem. Sorry computer won't back or erase. Keeps my dogs busy!

I don't know if this is in her lane, but we used Barbara Franklin when we needed a real estate attorney:

She helped us with a deed and was quick / professional.

"(more than four pigs on an agricultural property requires approval. A brochure on piggeries is available at the Planning Department)"

If I submit a complaint on myself, will they come remove the feral pigs that exceed four?  That would save us a lot of trouble.

Or does it mean that you can only have 3 squatters at a time?
Certainty will be the death of us.

My understanding with HOA's is they send out letters, impose a fine (after no response), and put a lien on the property.   After that their hands are tied.

Damn.  Talk about BRAZEN.  I feel for you Russ, that really sucks.

Leaking fluids from brakes, drivetrain and gasoline would seem to be the only potential adverse environmental impacts. But not to worry, no doubt your neighbor has already drained them.  Undecided
