What about living up to our end of the social contract by providing civil services equally across the board. Issue at hand - the police response time for a violent home invasion in 96778 is not the same as 96749 or 96740 and if you move to 96737 they should issue you a firearm and an apology!

  I think untrained idiots with guns are bad.

Trained idiots are bad too. So are untrained, intelligent people.  Plus the mentally ill. 

When you add these categories together with all the people who really have no good reason for owning a firearm other than mild paranoia it undoubtedly amounts to a huge majority of gun ownership in America.
