I've always voted at the HPP hui but today-- nothin'. I did get a mail in ballot (or something) months ago but never opened because I was going in person. Despite a county website still having the hui as the location, I'm assuming there's nowhere to vote in person. If true, why does the county (state?) still take a collective holiday today? If I'm wrong, please lmk I have a few hours still.

To the best of my knowledge, the only place you can vote today in person is at The Aupuni Center:
Until 7PM tonight

Thatʻs very strange, but you can take your ballot to either the Pahoa or Kea'au pollice stations today until the polls close.
Certainty will be the death of us.

eigoya, sorry to hear you haven't voted since 2018, the last time polling places were open!

Why be burdened with what has been?
I wish you all the best.

Isn't it our civic duty? If it's not, I wasted too much time trying to interpret the poorly worded ballot measures...

I'm more interested in what county website was "still having the hui as the location" is?

admittedly, I may have done a mail in ballot in 2020, but I still was not aware that it was the only option (short of driving/waiting) post COVID. Why have a holiday from work?

Again I just have not heard it's the only way to vote now.

Well, the link provided IS NOT from the Hawaii County Website.
It's from the Star Advertiser and is a link to the 2018 elections and has nothing to do with the County or the 2024 elections.

Apologies for the late response. But, maybe this info might help for next time....
