So, let's see, the zapper will produce more Coqui chirps for an undetermined length of time, increasing the chirp level. Sounds like it will be an easy solution to sell.

It depends. There are lots of reasons it could fail. Primarily, if the electronic Coqui does a lot of chirping and fails to attract the ladies then it useless; however if it attracts "X" ladies every night and "X" is a large enough number to reduce the Coqui population, it might be worthwhile.
Speculation at this point is probably pointless, someone has to try it out and evaluate the potential; either way, a good research paper for a UHH tropical Agriculture student.

What is the highest elevation someone has heard a coqui? I am on 6 road in HA and I heard one way off in the distance, other than that just crickets. I drove to 8 rd and there were some there, this is how it has been the last few years.

Monday night it was so quiet at our house that I almost couldn't get to sleep! Didn't hear on Coqui. Last night there were a few but not as many as usual. It has been a bit chilly lately.

To increase your killing pleasure, you can use an airsoft machinegun (cheap mans paintball gun). Pay more for your ammo and get the biogradable type pellets (starch) so you don't have little colored plastic beads everywhere. You might want to warn your neighbors, so they don't freak when they see you come out with what looks like a military battle rifle. Don't forget your camo fatigues and face paint.

Nope not kidding.
November/December 05 I rented a house in Hawaiian beaches. It was at the end of the street, one empty lot away from neighbor on most sides. From dusk to dawn there was only one thing I could hear.
Not a single dog, not a chicken, no cars, people, nuthin but Coqui.
However during day light, Although I never actually saw these things, just heard em, there were at least three dogs nearby especially one protecting its yard, , some chickens down the way, a Harley rider within 100 feet, neighbors chatting, occasional yelling, some probable beer drinking activity, somebody nearby needed a new muffler, and other usual sounds.
When the sound of these surrounds your home, neighborhood, you may as I did, discover the chickens down the street, those packs of yelping dogs, them arguing neighbors weren't so bad compared to The Hawaiian Coqui
It's like, when the sun returns so does paradise.
The one Coqui I encountered, caught, last Dec-07 at night. Took me 'like' five minutes to zero in on him with my flashlight, standing a few feet from him. Eventually as he sounded off I got within inches and grabbed him. What surprised me though was; Even my presence and flash light gleaming all around it, in contrast to most critters, did not stop this guy from chirping.

My wife thinks the coqui will not disturb her sleep, because she always sleeps with a very loud noisy fan. I don't like it myself, it drowns out all noise and we could never hear someone breaking in, but we have a good watchdog.

I've got to second (with an appreciation of the sarcasm) Les C's observation on the zapper. The frogs could live in peace if they'd just shutup. The goal here is less noise, not more.
And the safety concerns voiced by some over the frog's noise are amplified (pun intended) by sleeping with ear plugs. It isn't just indruders, but fire, sick family members, dogs that need to go out, emergency phone calls, you name it. I just don't see it as being a perfect option.
