I'm sorry, you've lost me there.

Not exactly a discovery, but a bill that could affect discoveries for years to come:

While it is not in the bill, Inouye thinks the best of couse of action is to have the authority disbanded, with management of the mountain continuing under the current system run by the state and the Center for Mauna Kea Management within the University of Hawai‘i.

I think that deserves its own thread. How about "Hawaii gives up on discoveries by the Mauna Kea Telescopes"? Because that's what's happening right now. I'd rather keep this thread about scientific discoveries, not local politics.

Posting discoveries here became too burdensome due to some idiots. Please remember I did it for free in my spare time. My life is busier now, so although I'd be willing to post updates on the latest discoveries again, I had little faith that everything wouldn't get sidetracked again. I even hoped it might encourage someone to do the same with discoveries made by the USGS's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, but that never happened.

If people want me to restart posting about the latest updates, I will, just not at the same rate as before. If they don't, I won't; that suits me just fine. It's up to you.

I wish you all the best.

As much as I enjoy your posts, that was one of the most insincere troll posts I've seen in a while!

No, I really meant it so not trolling but admittedly weak on the sincerity as I was really just trying to bury all of the HPP posts and get people talking about other things which happened so the ends justify the means.  Not trolling Tom.  We (royally speaking) do appreciate your missives.
I wish you all the best.

OK, I trust you. I will try to post updates; note that it won't be as many as before, as I'm busier these days. Summarising a new discovery into a short paragraph or two that is understandable by the layperson takes more effort than you might realize.

I wish you all the best.
