Why not?
I have spoken to many HPP Owners who have lived or have just owned property in HPP for decades. These HPP Owners have faithfully paid their road maintenance fees for decades, and were promised paving (but oops that didn't happen) and improvements (but again, oops). These HPP Owners have waited for decades and will probably never see their roads paved or reap the benefits of substantial road improvements. So, if making HPPOA wait can in some way help these people to feel empowered and enable these people to send a message (no matter how "petty" some of you feel it may be) to show HPPOA how unhappy and unsatisfied they are with HPPOA's "service," then yeah I am going to totally encourage these long time HPP owners, and others who are just fed up, to WAIT.
What about those you have spoken to or not, who quite like living on a dirt road?
Exactly, TomK. There are many owners who prefer their roads to remain unpaved. To my knowledge, no one has ever been "promised" that their road would be paved, and despite asking for evidence, I've never seen any. It's just a small group who disregard the wishes of others and are making a fuss. The main discussion revolves around the allocation of less than $1 million for mail service benefiting 8,850 residents. This amount could pave 2 miles of road serving 160 lots. Most sensible people understand that investing in mail service for everyone is a wiser use of funds than paving roads for 160 lots, especially when some of them don't even want it.

The "mumbo jumbo" still stands.
And there's a lot you don't "know" KP
Yes, I’ve never said I know everything. I leave that to you. But, there is also “a lot” you don’t know, only guess at and provide opinion about, not fact.
"Mumble jumble" is a playful variation of "mumbo jumbo." It similarly refers to speech or writing that is unclear, confusing, or difficult to understand. It suggests a mix of words that are jumbled together in a way that makes them hard to comprehend.

I've never heard of "silly willy," but Mike Yarwood, who impersonated ex-Chancellor of the Exchequer Denis Healey, made the term "silly Billy" infamous. And what unintended pun are you referring to?
(I think the penis was mentioned in another thread).
Tom is this a protest against the patriarchy?
Clever comment, and also more-or-less accurate!
Wonderful. Perfect. I finally feel that I have reached the requisite age and maintained sufficient testosterone to qualify and the whole thing comes to pieces. Thanks for nothing Mary Tyler Moore!

Never heard of her. I bet you'd never heard of Mike Yarwood either until a few minutes ago! I don't know why you used the name "PerfectTomK" but that's your choice. At least this is so much more interesting and entertaining than Patricia's posts.
You are correct I was not familiar with Mr. Yarwood. I'm reminded of Austin Powers.
I edited my post to add stuff while you were posting. My apologies even though there's no need for me to offer an apology. The moors stuff was about the difference between "mores" and "moors". We can leave that behind us unless someone is so obsessed they bring it up again. I did look her up and found a video near the top of the search that seemed to be a decades-old version of Frazier and wasn't too funny until the very end:
I have to say I really don't like the Austin Powers movies. While there are certainly many very funny scenes, the humor is just a bit too much like Benny Hill for me.
The funniest MTM skit - filmed before a live studio audience who had no clue:

Well, all I'll say is that there is a difference between US and UK comedy. If that's the funniest skit, I'm a bit disappointed. However, I'd rather watch that video again than read Patricia's posts.
Now, do you think whoever owned this land had to deal with the nonsense in this thread? I hope not. Goats on wobbly metal:
