All the recent talk about Internet companies, billionaires, and all the idiosyncrasies of the coders, owners, investors and users, reminds me of HBO's 2014 series "Silicon Valley."
Silicon Valley (TV Series 2014–2019) - IMDb
While maybe a bit dated to today's issues, I think the portrayals of ALL the people behind all of this as well as the ludicrous amounts of money involved that the show depicts is still very relevant and quite spot on with the players of today. (Wait until you meet "Russ Hanneman")
It is a laugh every few seconds type of show, the kind where you better be able to hit the pause button while on the floor laughing as you will miss 10 more spots that each of them will put you back on the floor laughing again and again.
On HBO, or I am sure, your favorite bootleg streaming service!

Netflix has added the movie Agora.
It’s the 4th century AD, Alexandria Egypt, Hypatia the Philosopher teaches math, astronomy, physics. The Christians are gaining power and influence. The Roman Empire is on the decline. The world is in flux.
Good script, well acted, Rachel Weisz in the lead roll.
I recommend it.
Edited to add:
Comparisons might be made between the 4th century AD as portrayed in this movie, and today. Where do battles between religious sects lead? What happens when science and the arts are destroyed? Does the world become a better place or do we find ourselves down a path to the Dark Ages?

I watched the trailer, not sure it's for me, but I will likely give it a go. In the meantime, in my spare time, I've gone back to watching old movies that I've never watched before. I really enjoy these movies because there's a story and no special Hollywood effects. They also had some very good actors!
Today I finished watching "Bad Day at Black Rock" and am also very near the end of "Bend of the River". I'm looking for movies like these I haven't seen before. Sometimes it's nice to go back to movies from decades ago and not have special effects spoil everything.

"Planet of the Plates" on Amazon. Did you know that Antarctica and the Mojave desert share the same rock? They were once connected in the Rodinia continent.
Naturally this show briefly discusses the Hawaiian islands.

I watched something on YouTube recently that discussed what will happen in the next several hundred million years, and basically, the conclusion is that we'll end up with another Pangea. I'll try to find the link to it. It was very interesting. After that, well, the planet probably won't be capable of supporting life. The Sun will be aging and pretty much saying get off my lawn.
PS. Thanks for the suggestion of Planet of the Plates. Watching it now.
PPS. The video I watched was light-hearted but interesting:

I watched Project Hail Mary last night on Amazon Prime. Starring Ryan Gosling, it’s a sci-fi adventure and crowd pleasing mix of special effects, humor, and a welcome respite from real life discord. What happens when confronted with a life altering situation, or situations? Do we trust our own instincts and intelligence? Overcome our fear of one unknown, then another, then another?
Great script, beautifully filmed, 5 coconut rating.

In an entirely different direction, there’s Drunk History. I’ve been watching excerpts of speeches recently about the founding of America, the Declaration of Independence and other events. Much of it although taught in 4th grade, has been no more than a fictionalized appeal to what many apparently wish they were taught in 4th grade, or learned at recess from 5th graders having a laugh.
The Comedy Central TV series Drunk History is like that, but funnier, edited, so quickly paced, and probably all in all more accurate than the speech excerpts mentioned above, even though the story tellers are drunk. It’s rough, it’s raw, it would not be something you’d hear at a Sunday church service. You can find segments posted on YouTube.
