Ninole Progress
Geez David you and Sophie have gotten a lot done! You now Scott is not going to be a happy camper when he sees the "Green" concrete trucks instead of his companies "Red" trucks! ;^) Hope to get up there again soon. By the way are you guys going to try to make it to Dive Sunday to eat and talk story?

I guess I'm going to have to get a few update photos posted now too.

David and Sophie,
I'm gald you took your progress pictures. We keep threatening to go over and see your place in the making. At the rate we are going, it will be done before we see it. Glad to see the two of you getting closer to that finish line. Looks great.

Dave & Sophie, you guys have done a great job (and a lot since last post)! Noticed the pictures of your 4 pawed supervisors, boy they do seem very comfortable in their role.
Are you going to stain the new pour? What color?
(Just got done tileing one of our baths, boy do I wish we could have stained! Knees are much older than the last time I tiled...almost 30 years older...boy what a diffence time makes!)
Love the colors you are doing....and the pictures of the rainbow & double rainbow will look great framed. You guys are definately creating a magical place.

I'm chiming in to say - your dawgs are very cute. They look like good company.

Also, I was wondering about the acid washing thing you did on the original slab...is that only for the lanai and interior areas?

Thanks Guys.

Royall - the "green" truck come as a function of my concrete guy - he was their longest term employee before retiring. The drivers will do most anything he asks. I suspect part of my pour would have required a pump if I'd got a different route.

As for all you you "pass by" to and from Costco - do stop by. Wyatt, bet you can't count how many times you've passed by - LOL

Acid Staining. The original staining was the interior floors (minus garage/work shop) and lanai areas. Haven't decided yet what to do with the new areas. Have to wait minimum 28 days for concrete to cure before acid staining, so I get to procrastinate.

OK, been slightly busy since last update. Things like:
Fans, lights, electrical goodies installed
Windows trimmed
Doors hung and trimmed
Concrete floors scrubbed, sealed, polished (not quite finished yet)
24KW genset received and set in place
Catchment tanks aligned and initial plumbing
Tools setup for cabinet making
odds and ends

can see pics at Take me to Ninole pics

Enjoy

David, awesome! (did you guys pick up 2 more puppies, or are they visiting?? anyhoo, they are sooo adorable....)
BTW: did you use fiberglass to pack the roof (where it rises above the deck)?
It is so great to see that you guys are still smiling!

Ahhhh, the puppies Smile. Two females to chose from, we chose the one on right - more white on nose. She is the one Sophie is holding in subsequent pic - named her Kalani. We bring her home Tuesday.

Sealed last concrete floor today, will apply polish Sunday. Finished the 5 coats on the others today, will buff tomorrow. Sophie and I are both impressed with how the floors are coming out. My thoughts are already turning to the concrete counter process.

Considering how "non-artists" we are, we are very pleased with the compass rose.
