Bamboo Houses
#21
By the way, have they raised their prices? I sent to this site about a year ago, and it seemed like prices were much lower then. We would all like to see pictures and to hear more about your progress and the company. I love their architecture.

I haven't checked in a while. We signed the contract quite a while ago, but I do know the extended lanai cover went up in price. I do have photos I will be happy to send.

This turned out really nice when i saw your studio and the site work for the future home....i had a chance to talk to the general contractor and it looks like since there's really not too many of these types of homes available on the island... there are far to few builders that know how to do this type of build....I think most contractors will be charging premium rates on building since they cannot really account for crew time to make sure they can make a profit on the building/framing portion.

The look is definitely complementary to the area and works very well to this property, it makes a fantastic personal statement to your lifestyle and design aesthetic...the only downside I see is that this type of kit usually doesn't equate to saving bucks from the building process if you were thinking buying a kit style will be cheaper, it usually ends up being a custom job labor and material wise....but very nice all the same....hope you can post pictures of the progress?

No, we certainly don't look at this as a kit house! I think our contractor is more comfortable with the assembly process now that he has had hands-on experience with the studio. As you can see in the Bamboo Technologies film clip, the buildings can go up quickly. The key seems to be getting enough bodies on the job. We helped assemble the first quarter of the studio when we were over last month and learned a lot.
