which service is better?
#21
The Wave Frontier T90 sounds like a bear to aim from what I read on one forum. I've not yet heard of anyone getting more than one satellite in the Islands. If this is the case, it seems like a 3 LNBF dish would be a waste.

Who is the best person/company to contact for Dish Network installation?

I hear that certain installers can give you a better deal on installation, etc.

I think that there's only one Dish Network installer on the East side (or is that the whole island?) That's Tim Sullivan. I think the roadside banners at Kea'au-Pahoa Rd. on the Pahoa side of Kea'au High School and at the corner of Kilauea and Puainako are for Tim. There doesn't seem to be the guy with the tent at Kurtistown anymore. Should be in the phone book. I'm not sure if you can DIY; don't know if you need to use the official installer to get the subscription started.

Thank god I found soneone other than than Tim Sullivan! Try Pahoa Satellite 965-8591. They are wayyy more professional than Sullivan.
An unfortunate experience with Tim...
I had Sullivan install at my new house in Nanawale. He spent half the time screaming and swearing at his wife on his cell phone in my front yard! Nice way to announce to my new neighbors that I've just moved in! I have never been so embarrased.
I think Tim has ICE issues...stay away!

What about signing up over the internet?

Pahoa Satellite will charge you $$ for the equipment and installation.

The website says they will not charge you for the equipment and installation.

is Tim Sullivan the guy who advertises the "mini dish"in his front yard in Kea'au. His house is almost right in front of Animal shelter? If that is the same guy, I'd think he's just a "low rent drunker", not an "Ice Monster"?

Besides, I don't suggest anyone to use Dish Network for their internet connection, even if they offer a wireless service!!! Did you all see yesterdays newspaper? Hawaiian Tel Comm is gonna kick up their internet service to compete with Roadrunner. After next month is will be possible to have faster service that what RoadRunner offers right now! Last year I was paying $40.00 a month for my internet service in Honolulu with RoadRunner. Currently I pay $29.00 a month to Hawaiian Telcomm to be frustrated for the most part with their upload speed(molasses like). So I can't wait for Hawaiian Telcomm to do their internet upgrades. I'm just worried about prices though..

Beachboy how slow is your speeds ? Do you have a 3Mbps/768K connection ?

Also Beachboy, it is my understanding that Hawaiian Telcom's pricing will remain competitive with Road Runner. For example
it costs 54.90 for a 8Mbps/512K RR Turbo connection. So i figure the 7Mbps should probably not more than that.
