First of all, this is just an "advisory" -- that means that the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center is still evaluating the data to determine if a "tsunami watch" or "tsunami warning" should be issued.
Second, Glen -- you didn't bring this on, we're just trying to get all of the potential natural disasters out of the way before you get here.
Having been in the South, you know that a potential natural disaster means that you MUST run to the grocery store and get milk, eggs and bread. Because nothing says "natural disaster" like French Toast!

I loved your post John! I talked to my brother in New York State two days ago...we've had some family drama here lately and when I called once again and said "just to let ya know..." he hadta laugh. Said he was just about to call me about the hurricane...then there was the earthquake LOL.
When growing up in Buffalo, NY it was the blizzard kind of natural disasters and he reminded me that when there's a blizzard headed their way he notices all the beer and chips are sold out at the supermarket.

This is a Tsunami Advisory Cancellation Update for Wednesday, August 15 at 4:15 in the afternoon.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has confirmed that the earthquake which occurred off Peru this afternoon did not generate a tsunami. There is no threat of a tsunami for the island or state of Hawaii due to the earthquake that occurred off Peru.
This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense."

Well, John, nothing says disaster like MY French Toast, that's for sure....or, uh, Freedom Toast.
As for me, bringing this, on, c'mon! Lava outbreaks, earthquake, hurricane....the timing just doesn't look good!
We may need to have a party.

Less that 1 hour ago 6.9 earthquake in Solomon Island...no tsunami warning generated...very weird all the earthly activity goin' on...anyone an astrologer?
