Help pump is in tank

Bought house tank concrete under patio plumber says pump is in catchhment tank filter unknnwn but probably im there too euer heard of such a thing gond news is very quiet and need scuba gear to steal bad news is domt know if water is filtered called wworks and hi catchment and they said whvh

Glen it is not likely that the pump motor is in the water.....Do you have an access portal to the tank? (most likely you do) Then just open it & shine a flashlight in. Hopefully the water is fairly clear & you can see just what is in the tank area, even if it is a totaly submerged unit. If it is submerged, hopefully there is also a lift cable to it (last ditch, the power cord, but I would make sure to cut the power to the unit first) You may also have a pump house adjacent to the tank that is covered...or maybe somewhere in a closet....

One way to trace where the pump is, is to listen for a pump noise when the water is running....follow the noise (how much water running depends on the size of you pressure tank...another place where you may find your filter housing.)
Might also want to check the area where your hot water heater is....Filter housings are usually somewhere accessable.

Glen, have you had a few too many margaritas? Your message is quite garbled. Sounds like your pump is like a sump pump, or a well pump, it's submerged. Follow your outlet waterline to see where it goes. It may lead you to a filtration setup. If not, you may not have any water treatment. Get one, soon!

It could be a submersible well pump. If so you have a good thing. They are higher quality and last longer than the catchment type pumps. Is it 220 volts?

OK, so you took my advice and got the margarita machine for your palapa. Good.

Now how in the world, after obsessing quite some time over catchment water, did you end up buying a house with a catchment system that you don't understand the first thing about? Did you think to ask what sort of pump you had or where it was before you bought the place?

Glen, many have bought without knowing enough, so don't fret too much, luckily there are a lot of people that have dealt with many of the systems. I do know that there is a Realtor in HPP that even has owned & built a few of the homes that have in ground catchments. She was a friend of a friend & helped us out with a few of our questions when we rented in HPP. There are also enough handy helpers on line here that you may get the info you need.
Was the plumber out at the house when he told you this? if so, why didn't the plumber check where the filter was?

Of course, you might not have a problem or anything that needs fixing at all, so maybe someone on the forum can give you free advice.

Chunky your aloha sux guy went over cliff on purpose house in foreclosure i swooped in no time for inspection before and house sold as is inspector didnt catch that pumq is in tank he confvsed pump that powers the trio of brass dolphins or pool pvm p with water pump i wiish such problems on thf world in the meantime everyone brilliant advice follow the noise and the water line going out the hovse is over the top qualitwise so there may be a methnd tn the seeming madness

I suggest soneone visit Glen right away. Check to see if his smile is lop-sided (this sudden onset of writing sounds like a possible stroke)
