"One ton potato, I eat a One ton potato...
Guantanamera, guajira Guantanamera"

Rob, these are from a field that a friend leases to an export farmer. Normally, after they harvest for the export market, there is about 1,000# of potatos that a group of us pick for the Food Basket. This time there are a lot more potatos that are not the right size & shape for export. The farmer & the friend do not want the potatos to go to waste. We are not trying to sell these, just trying to get them to people who are either in need, or are willing to 'do the time' for some lip-smacking good taters!
Selling to a producer is not in plan, as that may compete against another local farmer, and we aren't doing this for the money. As it is, it looks like we flooded the Puna Hongwanji bazaar market, as as 10 oclock when I was there, there were only a very few garage sale items left, a few plants & prepared food items left, a nice pile of papayas and a whole bunch of purple sweet potatos left....
