the web can this morning is beautiful! and.. may be showing for the first time part of the open channel crusted over. i.e., the beginnings of a tube system?

Going south anybody? Wow last nights lava glow was one of the brightest I've seen.. Keep chanting because the flow defiantly made a southern improvement in the last 24hrs. If you had seen the Lava last night you could have seen the southern flow, glowing, burning, defiantly against the trend.

Don't look now, but the channel is getting a leeeeetle crusty. HVO reports it has crusted over in three sections. Smattering of pahoehoe here and there. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Governor LINGLE was briefed today! From KHNL: <<Big Island authorities keeping watch over potentially dangerous lava activity on Kilauea have briefed the governor and now plan to talk to members of the community.>>

I wonder what they will have to say.....
