Now I am putting this sex offender search site up because I am amazed at how many predators we have amongst us. Please be smart and know your surroundings.

Okay, this is really scary! There are a lot of rape convictions and sexual abuse in these files. Creepy.....

"You must be," said the cat "or you wouldnt have come here."

What's really scary is the number of these people who don't register.

I have second thoughts on that knowing one incident... no, I am not saying they cant do it - but in this case - he didnt do it - it was a 21 year old gay man accused of raping a 15 yo female. She was his friend she got drunk and he basically got her out of the clutches of some high and drunk older men, took her home, and when he poured her onto her parents front porch - and her dad accused him of getting her drunk - he said "oh yah and I was having sex with her too"... he was being sarcastic, the HPD at that time didnt do a sex assualt kit - so based on a sarcastic remark this kid got 3 years. He had to have a public defender who didnt do anything because he couldnt afford anything. The list was made public two years ago and he has taken heat since then. For doing the morally right thing and gettign her out of there.

That said I worked with the director of the SOTP at Kulani and know that most of these people we should be very afraid of for our children. So I am torn 80% post their names, 20% dont post.

That is scary, there are a couple of freaks on my street.

I've also have read that Puna is home to the largest population of people relocated in the witness protection program!

Would you share with us where you read this information?

I would also like to see a repeat violent felon registry.

Providing info on Aggravated Sex Offenders is valuable, but so is knowing that a violent gang member on parole has moved in next door.

What about scarlet letters? You could brand them on the foreheads of anyone who has been convicted of specified crimes.

Or we could deem a crime paid for after the criminal has served his or her sentence and a period of probation or parole, and just get to know our neighbors better, and watch our children better (not let them drive cars or go into the homes of people we do not trust alone). You know -- personal responsibility.

could I find one of these rapist thru the DMV if I know his license plate number from car? Seems that HPP has a lot of these "Chesters" floating around, but I can't find street address for these..these individuals. I wanna know how many are my neighbors,if they live near by.

I guess I should teach my Pit Bull how to take on a mouth full of testicles!
