I just saw one last week down the road on Paradise Drive. It was spouting and slaping it's tail in the water.

Our ngiehbor saw a mother and baby around Thanksgiving south of Kaloi Point, HPP.
Shane,
I was checking out the dinner cruise. I have friends coming in Jan 2008. Looks like your Jan 2008 calendar is not correct. Check the dates and days. They are out of synch.

Hassling or even approaching a whale is against the law. I don't know how much it is but there is a huge fine for doing this. Some years a tourist from Germany was fined for swimming too close to a whale.

bystander, see the smiley face with the wink? You know what that means? Early 70's I swam outside of the Lahaina Roadstead with Humpbacks with some other Greenpeace people while National Geographic filmed it. I was never arrested?

100 yards is the limit all vessels are required to keep and most ocean loving captains abide by.

Sailboats are the way to see whales. Main thing no prop in the water to cause damage, and in a sailboat, if you piss same off, he will remedy the situation on the spot. Whale self defense!
Granted power tours don't exceed the distance regs, if you drift from upcurrent, it's not your fault they get closer. How did the recent child get killed in a whale collision? The whale probably sank, and that wasen't even mentioned how the whale fared. Not the first time for Whale Foundation fleet.
Sailboats or jet power only, or else a ban will occur and everybody looses. An encounter of a 60' sperm whale in a 27' sloop is memorable!
Thanks "Big Oil" for saving te whales!
