Not to be negative, but I believe it is illeagle to import plants from Oahu at least in containers with any soil, and even barerooted must be inspected by USDA before bringing here. On the other hand, from here to Oahu is OK. If someone can say I'm wrong, please let me know, my info could be wrong!

James , how are you growing your trees on the land there. I have dug cesspools in HPP and know it's basically solid (layered) rock. Did you rip or do you use natural cracks, or did you bust holes?

To get plants from Oahu to the Big Island you need to get them inspected at the Dept of Ag. I planned to do that anyway so just wondered if there were things others wanted.

It is not illegal to bring plants to this island from Oahu. There may be one or two exceptions of extremely invasive plants, though I do not know what they are.

The trees in HPP?
Our lot had been ripped two years before we bought it. The albizia and socropia had regrown and taken it back. We cut them out.
Have pulled rocks and filled holes with compost, horse manure, phosphate, potassium; and mulched with greenwaste chips and lots and lots of paper.
Citrus have had the hardest time due to constriction of roots.
