Okay you clever people out there...Tell me how this works!!
At first I thought it was because I moved the mouse, but I did it again without moving the mouse, then again with out even touching the mouse and it worked, mind boggling!

The answer is always a multiple of 9 and all multiples of 9 have the same symbol. The symbol associated with multiples of 9 changes from run to run run, so you're less likely to notice the trick.
It's not magic at all, it's algebra...
... of course, to some, algebra might as well be...
... oh, never mind!

I mouse movement doesn't effect it at all. It's about prime numbers. If you did it at the same time someone else did it, came up with two totally diffent totals, the symbols will be the same for both of you, and the computer will show it. I don't quite know how else it works, but it all has to do with prime numbers.

Sons-o-*!#&*!!! They change the symbols everytime...you are right, though - it's all multiples of 9...you can't choose a number that ISN'T a multiple of 9 following the direction "subtract the sum from the original number..."
That was fun! What's next damn it?!!

The first time I subtracted wrong and so the symbol was wrong. But the next time it was pretty freaky. Thanks for demystifying it for me.
