County's Attempt to Blackball Bloggers
#1
I can only say one thing...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

For the county to even think of my blog in this situation just cracks me up.

Am I a threat?

Actually Damon, you should be flattered. And it is indicative of their respect for the power of your words.

Now, can you say "blackball bloggers" five times in a row?

It must feel a bit surreal to be named specifically like this, but it does go to show that you are being noticed and taken seriously. Keep up the good work, Damon. Many times I have found info on your blog long before other sources. :-)

It is a bit surreal!

The article is now available online here:

What I think is more then funny... Is in the entire time I have blogged... I have never even once contacted DPW for information.

All the information that I have found on them... has been public knowledge and posted elsewhere long before I even post things.

I love this statement:

...There was no incident that prompted the policy, but rather a desire to differentiate "new media" from traditional reporters and concern by some employees that they had been filmed for a TV newscast, Whittington said...

Thanks for the support folks.

Hey Damon:

Who was it said: "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel."? Attributed to Mark Twain?

Good thing I don't rely upon ink and those that do... are running out of money for fire power. [Wink]

The world in general and Hawaii/Puna in particular needs bloggers like China needs Tank Man

Despite the headline saying this was the "county's" attempt, let's remember that this was but one department, and one apparently ridden roughshod by a public relations person not being monitored by her outgoing boss.

Hopefully Hunter et al., with Billy's support, will ensure this type of thing never happens again.
