Neil Abercrombie or Duke Aiona?

I thought I'd start an early poll to see where people are thinking with the 2010 Governor race.

Excuse my ignorance but I am trying to learn and get involved. Did Aila lose to Lingle in 06? Has he announced anything for 10? Aiona does not thrill me from what I have seen and Abercrombie didn't exactly impress either (at least from the vid on Damon's blog). Guess I better dig in as I may be a voter there by the time this election rolls around. I tend to lean left but have voted for persons from all parties.

Blake hold your horses... I haven't loaded all the videos just yet. Only beginning... more to come. Only the shorter ones were loaded. It takes a while to digitize these things.

Would it make you feel any better if I told you that Abercrombie Stuck his neck out on the line and said that he would sign HB 444 into law if he was the governor?

P.S. Most the videos have been loaded now... the others were more fluffy then the ones I actually loaded.

If it helps anyone, Abercrombie was a conplete ass to us , back in the 80's regarding another Honolulu City Councilman was trying to ban all windsurfiing at Kailua Beach park. of course there was money and alterior motives, which I won't bore you with but, the decision was completely politics, tit for tat, and the needs of the residents and beachgoers was not even a consideratuion...Neil tied to shut down my presentation on behalf of Windsurfing Hawaii, he was a complete pompus little jerk about the whole thing

Aila ran in the Democratic primary in '06 and did not win.
Instead, Iwase was the Democratic candidate in the general election in '06.

Having talked with, and sometimes worked for (and against !), politicians for several years, I was extremely impressed with William Aila when I met him in '06 -- smart, progressive, unbound by big money support, innovative thinker able to talk sense with anyone.
