My favorite pet - your story
#1
Aloha,everyone!
Searched the forum and didn't find a similar thread. If there is,I'll delete this one .
Anyway,I love pets, dogs in particular.I noticed that a lot of members have pets.I've seen Glen's picture, holding a precious "dotted baby".
If I have it in in my album,I would right under "the catch of his life".
I know that John Dirgo has a furry friend that doesn't think she is a dog and Mella has cats who behave like dogs(hmm...)
Some people have goat pets.Any stories to share?(Punaweb funniest animals?)
I have a boxer. He purrs("catbox"),makes a lot of "fock" sounds while on a walk("meet the fockers") and uses at least 7 tunes of "Uh.." sound when he wants attention.I mock him,he mocks me back. When I tell him that the food is expensive,he gives me"50 bucks"(one paw) or a hundred(2 different paws). He knows how to make it 150(left-right-left).He is stubborn and opinionated, but very funny.I love him so much!

Thanks,Big Island!
Enjoyed the pictures.Lol!
As far as siamese are concerned, they look like cats, but I don't know...
Once I was pet sitting for my sister-in-law.She has a big house and that creature called Simon was following me like a ghost with that suspicious look of his.I swear,I was almost afraid of him. When I was trying to turn on the VCR,he kept pushing my hand off the button with that black hand of his.And if someone saw the expression on his mug in the mask, they wouldn't suggest he was trying to play!
Anyway,if I ever do another "cat sitting",I'll find out what kind first!

My favorite pet story on Punaweb:

Is there a dead horse...er, elephant in the room???

Okay, I'll bite - YES a Wooley Mammoth!!!

*edit*

And I had a friend that had a camel with two Bumps but the camel thought he had three Bumps.

When I told him that it only had two Bumps he got kind of mad at me and said.

"Haven't you ever seen a dog with three bumps and besides.... their not BUMPS... THEIR HUMPS"

I have a beautiful calico cat named "Princess".

Does she come home at night because she loves me?

or

Because she knows I love her?

She's not talking!

We have two Pomeranians that I inherited when Pamela and I got married last year. We call them our "Two Stupid Dogs" after the cartoon show, but they're really very bright little critters. If you could somehow attach a pole handle to them, they'd make great dustmops. [Big Grin]

I've had dogs all my life, and I just love 'em. Had a boxer when I was just a wee lad, Hope, his name was Dirk.

I just wish I could be the person my dogs think I am.

When Chuy (applehead chihuahua) was a puppy his brother and sister were eaten by a 6ft. black corn snake that crawled into their kennel (in Oklahoma). He didn't get Chuy 'cause he was wedged behind some carpeting.

Then the lady that was raising them lived with her mother who had dimensia and she thought Chuy was a rat and chased him around the house with a broom trying to kill him. As a result, he was always hiding.

Then my husband's Uncle came to visit and spotted Chuy one night as he popped his head out from under the bed. He was small enough to fit in his shirt pocket. He asked if he could keep Chuy. That was the start of the Chuy story. He came to live with us when he was just three and his family split up. They knew we loved him already.

My husband was out in the front yard of our Arizona home in the morning so Chuy could piddle. Chuy started barking at something and Tony moved toward him as a coyote jumped out from behind our pickup and grabbed Chuy by the hips. Tony made a loud noise and the coyote dropped Chuy and ran. He punctured just the skin on his hips but no broken bones.

Our vet says he never heard of one that got away.

That's our amazing Chuy story.[Smile][Smile][Smile]

Wow!Is that your own words?
I am putting it in my own great quotes file!
Sometimes dogs show us how to be a better person.
Once Brunik got attacked by a pittbul mix.Not bad,but there was some blood.Later on,when he saw him "crying"(was tied up for the whole 2 minutes!)he ran to him and "kissed" him on the cheek!
I sad:"Bruno, come on,who you are kissing? Have you forgotten the bloody but?
He looked at me like"It's Ok,mummy!"

P.S. The dustmop joke is great!

************************************************************
_Carolann!Your puppy really has 9 lives!
Your story made me cry!Chuy had been through a lot!
I feel sorry for abused kids, but they at least can tell someone.
Our abused "little brothers " need our help.
Chuy is lucky now to have a very loving ,good people around!

I guess most anyone here that has met us in person knows we have boxers.
Anyone coming to the party Mar 30th will meet them for sure.

Ruby - I often call her "wiggle butt" will be 8 in May. She was the runt and we got her when only 5 weeks old (way too young btw). She was so small she could get lost in my running shoe. We had 12X12 ceramic tile and if placed on one, there'd be plenty of empty space. We got Ruby several months after our all white male boxer passed on. Not sure if even to this day she she realizes she is not really a people and had a short existence before us.

Jack - We rescued Jack about a month after getting Ruby. This was through a friend of a friend concerned that Jack was left alone from very early morning until very late at night. He was about 9 months old and totally reduced his yard to rumble. The friend lived next door and was a constant witness to his loneliness. The owner gave him to us. We were his 4th home. We were able to track down his breeder who graciously gave us his AKC papers for free. To this day, Jack gets separation anxiety. About 6 years ago, he and Ruby had a litter of the the cutest little boxers you could image. They moved on to their chosen, new owners when they turned 8 weeks, already totally spoiled. Ruby "retired" from motherhood, but I promised Jack, that once settled in Hawaii, he'd get another chance. Trying to find him an appropriate gf these last 3 years has been daunting and disappointing. Jack peacefully passed on last night about 11:30, sadly, there will be no little Jack puppies this winter. He will be missed.

Kalani - my answer to promise I made Jack - an arranged marriage and next year there should be some special puppies up Hamakua way. She just turned 8 months. I believe we successfully missed her first season, but I think Jack has his hopes up. We got her at 6 weeks old from Honomu. Her mother is of island lines, but her Dad hails from Italy and she is part of initial AKC registration. We've all heard of Type A personality - Kalani is an A+. She knows no fear and her own agenda. She has also figured out that if she gets on the bed after I've gone to sleep, then she is safely there for the duration. I know, I feel her cuddled up to me, but wouldn't it be heartless to kick her off?

To say, these three are spoiled is something of an understatement. They know a styrofoam container means Mom saved them part of her meal. When we got a new pickup, the double cab was to get them their own space. They don't understand the concept of riding in the bed.

Is there any way to die and come back as your own dog?? Whatta life [Big Grin][Big Grin][Big Grin]

LOL, David M. Before my mother passed away, it was a long-standing joke in our family that if reincarnation is real, we all want to come back as one of my mother's dogs.

This was a woman who was, shall we say, not the best cook, at least for humans. But man oh man, could she whip up a mean doggie meal? You betcha. She cooked more for her dogs than she did for us. Probably served us right -- the dogs were more appreciative of her cooking efforts than we ungrateful kids were, anyway.
