REMINDER....all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sales calls.
....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the
cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a
different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.
It take about 20 seconds.

This is an internet hoax. Cell phone numbers are not being released to telemarketers.
From FTC site
quote
Cell Phones
You may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.
You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. Federal Communications Commission regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers.

But is this a "hoax" in the sense that you are providing your phone numbers to people who will then sell it to telemarketers? The web site seems real (URL appears to be genuine, not an IP address with a bogus sub-directory). The part of the warning that appears to be incorrect is about having to register your cell phone number(s).
I wonder if this is an attempt to overload the directory by having people include their cell phone numbers? Sorry, that conspiracy gnome just visited my brain....

Not a hoax. Just like the National Do Not Call number was not a hoax. It virtually stopped telemarketers from calling our landline in Arizona.

Carrie, it's a hoax. E-mails like that seem to go around every year. Those cell numbers were "released" last year, two years ago and three years ago too. Nobody ever called me! It's a hoax.

Oh well this too shall pass! Hi Carrie! LOL let me know when the tower is done!
Thanks Weigan for the snopes link, saved me from looking it up! We check into snopes from time to time. One article says people will have to opt in, now there is a concept! Who'd of thunk it? Too logical.
