Northwest already does the daily Kona - Seattle run. And they fly larger planes (757 - 300 series). Why would anyone want to fly a smaller and probably slower Aloha airline sized plane to Seattle?

Maybe they are like my daughter that lives in Seattle and prefers the service she gets with Alaska Airlines.

BTW... The special one way fare Alaska is offering for $229.00 "doesn't" include tax. So it's actually $250.00 one way or $500.00 roundtrip.

I flew to Seattle from Kona last week on Northwest for $409.00. Alaska maybe offering more seats but at the expense of higher fares and slower more compact planes.

I agree that Alaska's airlines service is one of the best ever....but price and comfort to me are more important than service.
