Health Care Online: Hawaii First in Nation!
#1
This is great news for Rural Puna residents.

First health plan in nation to offer Online Care to consumers HONOLULU [Hawaii]...which will allow HMSA to offer online care services to 1.3 million people in the state of Hawaii...

The ensuing interaction will allow providers to review relevant patient information, speak with and see the patients, prescribe medications as appropriate, and suggest follow-up care. This on-demand interaction between members and providers will be under the advisement of the patient's care coordinator, namely their primary care physician.

...if you have HMSA....

All they are doing is lowering costs by having less patients in the offices.

I spent a couple hours browsing the HMSA website a couple months ago, and also some of the other (Hawai'ian) providers' websites. From what I can tell, HMSA provides very reasonably priced medical insurance for a retiree and spouse. I still have 20-some months to get it all dialed in and make a decision, but on first blush, HMSA seems the way to go for me and Pamela.

And it is particularly reasonable compared to similar medical coverage in California. I don't know if that makes any of you resident Punatics feel better about your medical insurance, but it makes me all the more anxious to get over there. I'm getting shorter by the minute...[8D]

Next thing to expect - "do it yourself surgery" with a net-assistant.
Just make sure your ISP is good.

P.S. Just recalled John's Rabi's " I don't cut my hair,I don't do surgery on myself!"
Not for a long,John!Unless you will be in Taiwan by then.
