bringing aged pit bull to hawaii for her twilight
#1
hello everyone!
it has been a pleasure reading and learning about life in puna from all your generous posts!
i would like to ask if anyone has any charter/private flying suggestions to get my dog to hilo in july or perhaps a bit later? i recently discovered hawaiian airlines will not take her until october.
i would be flying from los angeles and as i will likely be commuting i think she would ultimatley enjoy living in hawaii more than here and could stay w my beloved.
thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Someone in a previous post here suggested "www.dogtravel.com" I looked at their web-site and they arrange in-cabin travel.

Hi Dustin =
Our plan, when we move next year, is to fly United, direct from LA to Kona, then rent a car for drive to Hilo. Flight leaves LA around 9 am, gets to Kona around noon. 5.5 hrs total for the animals to be on the plane.

It is great to plan ahead.... but make sure you have a back up plan.

Who knows if United will even be flying to Hawaii next year.

In all honesty.... for those that want to move to Hawaii... you better do it soon.

It is getting very expensive to fly here.

I've heard rumors that flying to Hawaii will only be available for the "elite" within 10 years.

It is the way... the way it is.
