Tenting proposal

Good point portajohns, and a good addition to a tent permit law, they seem to require them at the smallest event, and they shouldn't cost that much.

Portable Luas $145 on a jobsite right now per month

KC, would that be a monthly or weekly pumping? It would last a month with 2, or a week with 8. And what about theft(liability) yours or theirs? Could the cost be less for light use?

If a septic system is installed early in the construction process it would be simple and economical to set up a temporary John
to the system and skip the monthly rental fees.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Right, and if your place was surveyed, all permits in, it would be great. But when you come to a new lot, and want to feel the place, not really sure where to put the house and don't want two random holes in the forest just to be legal. The alternative is plowing it clear, then it won't matter where you place it.
I'm starting with a self contained camper, but at considerable expense. A month or so on the lot ought to let you get set up to build. Another reason for a cess/septic first is logistics to access the area, and possibily blast.

jerry, when I enquired, there was no rule to have a portapotty, which surprised me! But that was 2004. Things may have changed.

Well, it's dead for now. Nasty meeting!

The three year thing killed the concept from the start.

It is pumped twice a week. Hence my thought that carpenters are full of s**t! [Big Grin] (NOTE: Any carpenters this is a joke since SB is a carpenter too!)
