"Diamond Hoo Ha" by Supergrass, "Bleed like Me" by Garbage, "The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance, and the soundtrack to the movie "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" are some favorite albums around our house. Hedwig is amazing rock n roll, and the movie is good, too.

One hit wonder - "Red Rubber Ball" by The Cyrkle written by Paul Simon and Bruce Woodley! Sleepers - bands: Bread - "Make It With You"/"It Don't Matter To Me" The BoxTops - "The Letter"/"Cry Like A Baby" The Grassroots - They are one of only nine bands that have charted twenty nine or more Top 100 Billboard singles. Loved "The Grassroots" never saw them during their peak '67 to '72 but wore the grooves out of several albums. About 7 years ago the Sonma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, CA. had them performing - Rob Grill was still the lead singer. The voice was weak but familiar - the band sucked. [V] Time passes - things change - you can never go back - but the memories remain. [  ][][8D][^]

I saw the Grass Roots play "la la la la Live for Today" and "where were you when I needed you" at the Fantasy Faire and Magic Music Festival" at Devonshire Meadows in '67 ... NOT the headliners, lol Some more obscure bands or one hit wonders I saw in those days: Moby Grape (not obscure, but fell apart) Peanut Butter Conspiracy (Is Spreading) West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band I still have their albums even ... One solo album that didn't get much play, which I liked a lot Thank You, I'll Eat it Here -- Lowell George of Little Feat (big Little Feat fan here) |
