From the timbre of replies to this post, I think some folks are bailing.
Whereas dialog is the life blood of a web-log, I can’t image he means to limit replies.

I have been thinking about this. I wasn't anxious to place posting limits but there have been reasons to consider doing so. All of your comments affect this too. While I operate Punaweb it is really much more your site than mine. So I am adjusting, amending or tweaking the policy as follows. We will see how it works.
The policy will be for members to not exceed five posts per day average. This should remove concerns for most of you and allow you to concentrate on your commentary and communications without counting posts. Someone can go hog wild for a day or two if they are fired up and slack back later.
Average daily posts counts are maintained by the site and can be looked at by clicking on your, or any members username. I, for example, currently average 0.94 posts per day.
Does this sound more practical?

Damon, I would suggest that you would be most successful if you write when you have something to say in lieu of writing because you feel compelled to post something/anything.

I think the "average post" idea is perfect. If a poster exceeds the average, they could be routinely suspended until their average automatically drops below the "average limit", which wouldn't take long in most circumstances. I would also suggest that you enlist the help of an assistant moderator or two, hopefully some that are as reasonable as you. Hmm, reasonable/punatic? Oxymoron?
Of course the idea only works if there isn't a way for a poster to artifically adjust their average, perhaps by deleting old posts.

I cant agree with the above more! I see people get attacked and judged everyday on the board.
If this forum needs anything its a "keep on subject cop". Posts get hijacked ALL THE TIME! Posts go from Plastic bags to a long argument about raciest words. Someone asks a question or starts a conversion about one thing then a few members take it elsewhere then spend the next few pages arguing about something that has noting to do with the original post. Its sad and it happens all the time here.
