Police in the Sky!

the images that are up on Google Earth are really old NASA pics, and I mean really old. My house has been built for over one year six months. The Google image shows no house! So these images are at least two years old or more. Yet, at the same time it's fun to play with,Google Earth that is!

Without these remarkable people the island would be nothing. With them it's a carnival. They are generous, courageous and comic. They awake each morning to a fresh day that has forgiven the previous day's outrages. In the pursuit of money they are irresponsible. In the pursuit of happiness, dedicated. They are the perpetual adolescents of the ocean, the playboys of the pacific.

Based on the info (RFP) available from the state, it looks like they are just asking for the same aerial high definition digital photography mapping service in use by many law enforcement, fire, wildlife conservation, utility companies, etc, etc, etc on the mainland to get a "birds-eye" view of an area they are working. Things like Google map is way too outdated for public safety use and isn’t high def enough to give the details required.

To get an idea of what they are talking about, here’s a link to one such GIS system:

You will see that you can zoom into a single property and (if you enable the aerial) you can see every fire plug, and every manhole cover on a street.

yes the big island terrorists were out yesterday flying very low and slow over everyones' houses, i saw this technology on the news the other day they were using it on one of the other islands searching for some invasive plant, in the story they went back to their lab and they could then sit down and scan everywhere they filmed and then zoom in on suspicious plants, it would also have the gps cordinates, using this on it's own citizens should be unconstitutional, but with they right wing supreme court we have i'm surprised it's not worse

When I first found Google earth, I thought it was pretty cool. The photo showing my property was recent, in fact I could tell within a 4 month period when it was taken. They sense "updated" and the "new" photo is more than a year older than the previous. Seems they went the wrong direction to me.
