What is the traditional Thanksgiving meal here in Hawaii?

If you think about it, Thanksgiving would have been brought here by the missionaries from New England.
But I expect it's evolved into "all our favorite foods" whatever they might be, but for those who go "traditional" it's dominated by Turkey, cranberries, stuffing, yams, pumpkin pie ... having just done a Safeway shopping, that was what I saw the most of. But you could add an island flare by using different vegetables, some mango, lilikoi flavorings, mac nuts instead of walnuts and pecans, and so forth.

for some reason I forgot pineapple! Probably because we always had pineapple (not fresh) on the mainland. We have often had sashimi for the pre-dinner (but it costs too much this year). I have no rules about what to eat on Thanksgiving other than it should taste great and I try to use best ingredients with fewest chemical-additives.

I was invited to a Thanksgiving dinner by a local family a few years ago and they served Imu Turkey!

i think cynmkolohe might have had a turducken last year, too.
we usually have sashimi any time of the year, but the best is served for new year's. these days with the mix of different ethnicities, traditional thanksgiving goes according to the family. however, you must have the bird no matter how it's prepared. lots of people smoke it, put it in the imu, deep fry it or stick her in the oven. for sides: potato salad, yams/sweet potatoes, stuffing, noodles, sushi. anything goes.
