Anyone know how to treat the hibiscus blister mite? All of our hibiscus have it now and we're tempted to just pull them all out.
Thanks, Steve

You need to remove the affected leaves, which might be just about all of them if the infestation is bad, and then treat the new leaf growth with a miticide that contains Vendex as an active ingredient. You need to treat the leaves before they are affected by the insect. Be sure to follow the label instructions on the container.

Wettable sulfer works against the mite but has to be renewed frequently with our rainfall. Spray the bottom of the leaves as well as the tops and branches. Of course first prune off and throw away the badly infected parts.

Another use for Neem oil is on wooden furniture to prevent mold. Works for a very long time. Just wipe your treated or untreated wood with Neem, let it air dry, and no more mold.
