For what it's worth, Greywolf74 did some work at my house and I was pleased. The work consisted of grubbing, stump removal and rock excavation. I wanted to keep some trees and get rid of others and he worked around them with no problems. I would use him again.

Cheers,

Sean

We have about 30 acres and wonder if it's possible to clear some paths for walking/biking etc. I was thinking something on the order of about ten feet wide. Is this just wishful thinking and hugely labor intensive?

No!! It is not labor intensive and our machine could not be more perfect for doing the pathways. That is our specialty and we have tons of references to vouch for how we are able to do things to land they did not think was possible. Call us if you wish to discuss your ideas. We can make the land look like a nature park without any problems ss well as your bike and walkways. I would be happy to share photos with you.

Greywolf74, what strategy would you suggest for the person who wants to clear away little areas to allow for the planting of foundation plants? We won't be building for quite some time but would like to get some trees and larger plants in the ground to get a few years head start on the homestead. Location: HPP, near the ocean. The lot is completely overgrown and has probably never been cleared. There are a few Ohia trees we want to keep.

I was also thinking the same thing, but was advised not to do it unless we have someone who can take care of the young trees until established.

Eightfingers, there was an old thread in which our garden experts offered specific suggestions for trees and bushes that would take care of themselves. Unfortunately, I could not find it with search. I think this approach will work, but only for some trees. I recall mangoes and avocados as being among the suggestions.
