We have a problem with what i guess are called wood ants inside the house. I tried spraying, but to no avail they always come back. Any suggestions would be appreciated ! Our next step will be calling the exterminator i guess, we are out of ideas.

Try using Terro, it comes in a bottle or traps that are prefilled. I was really impressed with how well it works. Ace Hardware has it.

Ummm, it's silly to suggest tenting, but the last two houses I've bought were tented before moving in and I've been happy with the lack of ants. 3 months here and 5 years on the mainland. I keep on top of it with pest control on the perimeter with granules that I shake out arond the house.
I guess it all depends on how bad you want to get rid of them.

Interesting as we were warned about getting the ants after our house was tented, and boy did they turn up. But we did get rid of them eventually, with the help of the professionals, and now we just use the Terro for when they start to show up. They said it had something to do with the killing of the termites as they do not co-habitate with the ants, and once they are gone the ants turn up

I am not familiar with wood ants, but the ones I have in my house in a very hot weather are really disappearing for a long time only if I wipe the areas with undiluted chlorine bleach (I don't use commercial chemical sprays). Some can be cured with white vinegar spray.
Good luck!
