Aloha,

If you cannot make the public meetings for citizen input on the zero waste draft plan, as many of us cannot, you can send input by e-mail.

Send it to the consultants, RicAnthony Associates, at:

ricanthony@aol.com

and Cc: Recycle Hawai'i director Paul Buklarewicz at:

pjb01@hawaii.rr.com

According to Paul you'll also be put on the list serve and start to receive all updates as the project progresses.

mahalo,
John S.

Did anyone attend? [|)]

A DRAFT Zero Waste Implementation Plan was presented and discussed at the 5 meetings in early February; with comments taken for re-writing the final plan.
That final plan will be back late February/early March and be presented to County Council then.
The task at hand: getting the principles in this Zero Waste Plan to be taken into the (state-mandated) 2009 update of the County's Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan which is now being prepared. The Zero Waste Team and the consultants doing the ISWMP have begun discussions about doing just that.

I am a fan from far away Dr. Weatherford having read your posts here, on HPP board and references in community sites. I will not live there until summer 2010 but will be watching progress. Let me know if there is anything I can do in the meantime.

Best Regards,
