Bear has a 2000 Mazda B3000 pickup that has a problem with the ignition switch and some of the dashboard instrumentation. It seems some water leaked into the cab, and now the ignition switch has become quirky, but can be made to work. The speedometer and turn signal indicators have quit working, and some of the idiot lights on the dash stay on whenever the engine is running.
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic who can solve electronic problems? Louie's Automotive next door to Dell's Farm Store was recommended by a mechanic friend of a friend, but I was wondering if any Punawebbers could offer advice.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry

When we were having electrical problems with our car, that is who
our mechanic recommended.
The Car Doctor was also recommended, he has moved from Hilo to the
Shipman center.

Jerry, I had the same problem with my car a few months ago! I took it to three different mechanics and they all were shooting in the dark. The fourth one changed the ignation switch and that solved the problem. It was a $40 part.

Jerry,
Think about it we're in Hawaii. You don't need a speedometer or turn signals, 2 outa'three ain't bad, eh[:o)]

Sam's Auto Electric did a good job for me on a flaky old Jaguar. He's in the building with CD Wizard.

Follow-up. Took the truck to Louie's and John Rabi had nailed the problem. It was a $40 ignition switch plus labor. Under $100 all said and done. Louie is a really nice guy, too. I highly recommend him.
Cheers,
Jerry
