Royall, Tony and I are so sad for your loss. Cathie liked to laugh and we will remember her that way. Thank you for sharing this intimate time with us. You and Cathie are in our thoughts and prayers. Mahalo for your friendship.

Royall -
While there is little anyone can say to comfort you for this grievous loss, you must remember that your love made Cathie's heart sing with joy every day you were together.
That is a worthy objective for each of us, to emulate what you achieved.

Dear Royall,
I had the honor of meeting you and Cathie at Pam Lamont's.
You honor her with your candor and sharing.
I will toast and stare at the stars knowing a new one is shining brightly on us all - tonight!
Peace to you.

Guess I'll whip up a margarita for Sophie, but think I'll have a beer and remember how Cathie came to gain a liking for beer due to your homebrew. And that first one we share your next visit we'll raise to your love.
While you and I were in the kitchen, Sophie asked Cathie to say hello to God for us. Cathie's reply, "I'll tell her"

Dear Royall,
I don't know you and didn't know Cathie, but what a touching post. Cancer took away someone very close to me and although it's never fair to say that I could know what you're going through, at least I have some idea. I am truly sorry for your loss and understand your feelings that Cathie no longer feels pain. It is this outlook on life and death that will help you through this very difficult time.
It was so touching to see that you took the time during such an emotional period to write about how the hospice and the nurse took care of both you and Cathie. That touched a nerve with me and I have a tear or two to wipe away. You are clearly a very special person and Cathie was fortunate to be with you when her time finally arrived.
I hope you will be able to take comfort in the company of family and friends surrounding you, and I will be thinking of you as well.
A toast to Cathie.
